Minions

Every year, Illumination Entertainment puts together a unique capsule collection for Minions. In summer 2016, the collection had a tropical theme, connected to a new video game called “Lost in Paradise”. I was asked to create a series of images that Rusty would use on a range of clothing items, for sale exclusively on Swell.com. The Minions are such fun, lovable characters, and I’m from Hawaii, so it was a perfect project for me. As usual, I created images by hand and then colored them digitally. There was a lavish launch party at a private house on Santa Monica beach where I painted live. Several influencers attended such as Rumor Willis, Amy Pham, Whitney Port and Jared Harris. I think the collection came out really great!
